Matthew Moore

Matthew Moore is a writer, PhD student, and lifelong Midwesterner. He holds an MFA in creative writing and environment in creative nonfiction from Iowa State University. Matthew’s research focuses on representations of anger and rage in late-nineteenth and early-twentieth-century American fiction, and how those representations reflect or resist cultural attitudes towards eugenics, animality, and industrialization. Matthew is particularly interested in thermodynamic metaphors of anger, and especially boiling rage, in a time of increasing industrial heat.
