Mark R. Rank is the Herbert S. Hadley Professor of Social Welfare at Washington University in St. Louis. He is widely regarded as one the leading scholars in the country regarding issues of poverty, inequality, and social justice. He is co-author of the recently published, Poorly Understood: What America Gets Wrong About Poverty.
