Subscribing to The Common Reader, Washington University in St. Louis’s journal of ideas and inquiry, is inexpensive and easy.

The Common Reader showcases no ads, and because it is published under the auspices of Washington University in St. Louis, an institution of higher learning that cares about free and open dialogue and inquiry, it has no corporate owner.

Instead, part of how we measure our success is through readers who pay a nominal fee to enjoy unlimited access to all our content. All visitors to the site can enjoy free access for a time, but after four clicks on the site’s Essays section, repeat visitors will be asked to pay $19.99 for a year’s access. Readers may still have access to all “Dispatches” blog posts and reviews without an annual subscription.

This is a great way to support The Common Reader in its mission to further the intellectual reputation of Washington University in St. Louis as an international academic thought leader.
