Abigail Smithson is a visual artist born and raised in Redwood City, Calif. Her art practice is rooted in the appreciation, translation, and act of archiving photographs and objects. She received a bachelor of studio art from CU Boulder and a master of fine arts from Louisiana State University. Through her podcast Dear Adam Silver and her visual work, she questions the current narrative around sports and art and how the two overlap and live in our collective imagination. Smithson has taken part in artist residencies across the United States and has been a visiting artist at several institutions, including Smith College and Butler University. She is a lecturer in the Art+Film Department at Cal Poly Humboldt.
